The 2024 Washington Auto Show is focused on electric mobility of all kinds. One of the venues so you can "Ride Beyond Your Limits" is sponsored by Strictly-Ebikes in Old Town Alexandria, one of the only bike stores in the Washington Metropolitan Area which only sells e-bikes.
Riders are encouraged to take a spin on the test track to get a better feel for riding an e-bike, which may pique a further interest in buying (or renting) an e-bike. This test drive can also help a consumer determine what style or model of e-bike best suits their wants and needs. The e-bike line up at the DC Auto Show includes well known e-bike brands, including Rad Power, Aventon and Veloctric, but also had lesser know makes such as Big Sur and Kinetic.
Strictly-Ebikes brought mostly Class 2 e-bikes (throttle control limited to 20 mph), they had Dutch style e-bikes, mountain e-bikes, hybrid e-bikes, cargo e-bikes and a couple of fat tire e-bikes.
Many prospective riders had never ridden an e-bike. A couple of riders were slightly trepidatious as they had not ridden a two wheeler in quite a while. But after some coaching and a bit of support, they were happily peddling around the track.
Even though the test track was indoors and away from the snow, all riders wore helmets because safety first.
